I'm having a brain fart and do not have the manual handy...
What is the correct procedure for optimizing the database?
I think I messed up because most of the information for bpm and length is missing from my videos. I think it might have occurred when I did "check" then "fix".

How about we drain some of the gas from your brain. The manual is always in the same place:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Documents\VirtualDJ
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Documents\VirtualDJ

All manuals available online also: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/PDFManuals.html
I believe the correct order is Fix/Check/Clean ;-)

At this point I would suggest copying your target database to a safe location before doing the Check-Clean-Fix procedure. That way you can revert back if the process screws something up.
I am suspicious that the Check-Clean-Fix process either adds space characters or doesn't compact after a record deletion. I have found large holes in the XML databases that will hide your Virtural Folders and perhaps Songs from view due to these gaps.
I experimented and re-edited the XML databases to remove these space characters ... thus manually compacting the info. And restored my hiding VFs.
Be careful and do a backup first.

JimL

Doh! An experienced pro user like myself should have that burned in my brain! Blonde moment hit again I guess.
