With Version 6, how do I get samples that I record to lock with the BPM of the song?
With 5.2 it was automatic. Is there something I need to do to sync it?

lol i just asked the same question...didnt see this post till now...im still waiting for an answer. are you having trouble with loops that you create on other sources or that you download ffom other websites? cause thats my problem i cant sync loops that i made with other sources with the current playing song, i can only sync loops recorded with virtual dj.

Yah !
Since we have a loop topic may I chime in on an improvement I would like to see? This could be skin related, but I would like to see a "start of loop" adjustment in additon to the existing one.
I use the CUE RMX by cioce skin. When I tweak the trim knob it adjusts the front & back of loop. This technique rarely works to get a perfect loop. I would like to have a knob for trimming the beginning, and the other to trim the end of the loop.
There are just some songs that don't loop well. I would have a chance to better tweak the bastard loop with front and back knobs.
For a work around I have a Virtual Folder of song/videos that are naturally good at looping. I can mix loop into loop quickly... because of the confidence the tune is indeed loopable... with no tweaking. Mashup technique 102.
Is it possible for me to modify the skin and add another knob; change existing knob to "trim end of loop"; and code the new knob with "trim beginning of loop" ???
I'm still learning XML. Is this app open enough I can make this modification?
Regards,
Jim L

You can use shortcuts (keyboard/MIDI) to independantly move the in/out loop markers. Obviously this means you could add a skin element to do it too...

What happened to Virtual DJ Mixstation 3? That was the best software for trimming loops. Is it still being sold?

It was discontinued a long time ago: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/djmixstation.html
it was based on VirtualDJ v3, so everything that was possible in it should still be possible in the latest version, which has had many, many improvements since then.
You can download custom skins that unlock more advanced capabilities of the software from the skins download page: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/skins.html
Or for more hands-on control, you may wish to consider a MIDI controller: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/hardware.html
