Topic: Got My NEW Case for Hercules RMX Today!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Today was an awesome day as far as deliveries go. Not only did I get my NEW SENNHEISER EW135 G2 wireless Microphone System, but I also got the Odyssey Case retro-fitted for the Hercules RMX. The guys at Odyssey did an awesome job. I had a couple of carpeted cases for CD's from Odyssey back in the day so I was very surprised by the no-expense-spared quality construction of this ATA case. Anywaze, here are some pics. What you can't see is that beneath the RMX unit is a "pit" (Odyssey's term) where an external hard drive & a small wireless Mic unit can be stored. The computer is a Lenovo Net-Book and the external Hard Drive is a 500GB Passport. This unit is definitely my new rig of choice! -Z-

NICE setup! Would you mind posting some details (price and location) for us to drool over? Thanks ;)

very hot...where did u purchase...and how much

Nice case. Don't they make rack ears for the Hercules RMX?

Thanx for the feedback gang!
The Odyssey case model is FZGSVCI300 which was originally designed for the Vestax unit. Odyssey retro-fitted it for the Hercules RMX.
You can get the specific Odyssey page http://www.odysseygear.com/search_script.php?count=0&query=fzgsvci

The case, completely retro-fitted for the Hercules RMX, is available through any authorized Odyssey dealer. You can go to their website and find one near you. I used ProDJ.com Forum sponsor Bill of Entertainment Systems Corporation. Bill charged me circa $200.00 w/ shipping. Bill's customer service is legendary among DJ's so i highly recommend calling him. The item drop ships directly from Odyssey to you so even though Bill is East Coast based it won't add on any shipping time for you if you live somewhere else.

Yes there are rack ears for the Hercules RMX unit, but they're not being used in this case...no need for them. The rack ears just became available in the USA like a week or 2 ago. Word is Guitar Center is the 1st store to have access to them. I called my local GC and had to brow beat them into calling the US distributor to order them after GC staff insisted they weren't yet available (I had gotten an e-mail directly for Hercules telling me they hit the US distributor and then an e-mail from the US distributor). They considered this a "Special Order" item and insisted not only on the item being pre-paid, but I had to go to my local GC IN PERSON so they could get an imprint of my card. -Z-

Nice setup DJSTEVEZ!

For those of you who already invested in a rack/case and are looking for the rack ears for the RMX/Steel, they're availble now in the US at B&H Photo. They order directly from their supplier an their supplier drop ships to you. I just received mine today:

Also, available at:

There's also a less expensive alternative, it is the Odyssey Battle Bridge brackets; when used the opposite way they fit the RMX; but you'll have to drill the holes on the side that attaches to the RMX.

cannot understand why anyone would want to shelve out that sort of money when you could make your own for pennies... or is it just me getting pleasure from doing his own stuff or me just being a tight git... lol

That's what I did...Now that I've gotten the RMX, I think it may be time to drag out the ol' tools and take a ride to the local home improvement outlet again, lol.

Hehehe!

Tayla, I admire your skills. My dad was quite the craftsman bordering on being a cabinet maker and did phenominal things with wood. Just like his height, his craftsman skills bypassed me, sorry to say. Please post photos when you're done. Best, -Z-

cheers steve, i don't think i'd be in the same league as your dad though, but he probably tell you patience and don't rush a job is probably the best two skills to have... the latter is probably apt for me as being a lazy git usually helps... lol

will get more pics to you soon as...
