Gang -

Is there a utility to take a M3U list and copy the tracks to a different location?

Here is why...

VDJ (and others) create M3U playlists for - what else? playlist and history logging.

Well, after an event, I would like to have the means to 'export' that M3U file to a directory of my choice and have the ability to skip over invalid entries.

When I compiled my 2008 tracks played, I wanted the ability to copy every track from 2008 to a DVD - and make that my 'go to emergency' backup.

Trying to convert M3U to a batch file and copy does not work as in batch mode, any non letter character gets mis-translated and as a result, won't copy.

Thanks gang!

I would like that very much too. But until Dev Team includes this to an update, you could do what i do for now...

Click on a playlist on the left corner of the browser. Click on one of the files included in the middle (files) browser section. Press Crtl+A to select all files in the playlist. Right click ->File Operations -> Copy to (select the destination).

Hope that helped.

Thanks bud!

That would even be better.

I can backup each event to a CD for safe storage - just after the gig.

And I could make an audio CD of the important tracks just prior.

This should be a sticky or at least in the FAQ.

Media Monkey allows you to do this. I use Media Monkey to create my playlists before a gig. Then I have Media Monkey burn a CD or DVD of the playlist and it includes all of the tracks that I can use in an emergency if VDJ or the laptop craps out. Then I export the playlist as a .m3u that I can then open up in VDJ.
