Topic: Virtual Dj 6 on MACS NOT LOADING

I am on a Mac Book Pro, and i used to be able to load Virtual dj fine, but last weekend, in the middle of a gig, Virtual Dj shut down. I tried to reload it, but it would get to "initializing graphics engine..." ,stop loading, and would say "The application virtualdj quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected."

Does anyone know what's going on??

I just got the same problem. Luckily not during a gig, but I have 2 gig's this weekend, and I pray that everything is OK by tomorrow. I'll try to reinstall the software, I'll hope that solves the problems.

Try this: delete you're preference files of vdj in the user library.

path: user/library/preferences/com.atomixproductions.virtualdj.plist

Start vdj and it will make a new preference file
All your settings are gone. you must also enter your serial.

Hopefully this will help.

it will work when you do this - turn off your wireless. turn it back on after VDJ loads up. annoying but it works.
 
I install virtualdj_pro_v6.0.1_publicbeta1 and the problem was solve. The version virtualdj_pro_v6.0.1_publicbeta2 has more problems that the first one.
 
Were can i download that public beta?
Can't find it?
 
You have to own VDJ in order to have access to the public beta.
 
i get it to load but it wont run. I think it is due to using os 10.5.7
 
as said before turn off or disconnect internet then open vdj and untick netsearch that worked for me
 
yeah i read to minimize your mac setup. like less animations when u do stuff, turn off bluebooth if u hav to n airport. dont run programs u need. u can use Activity monitor to see what is running. i usually every booth up close microsoft ui, adobe cue, hp updater ui, stuff i dont need at the moment
 
ya the same thing just happened, to me, except im on a pc. Help please! when it tries to open the scrreen freaks out
 
We are now at V7, why using a V6?

The PRO User should go to their personal Download Center and install the actual Version.

Other User should try to work with the Home Free Version.

Do you use the provided LE Version?

This really helped and sorted out a load of my problems with VDJ. Thanks a lot for the advice.
 
OK, It is a few years later now, I cant find this path path: user/library/preferences/com.atomixproductions.virtualdj.plist
with OS X 7.5 and VDJ 7.1 because I am having the crash issued, Any help?

When VDj crash which controller your using and have you re-map the controller? and make sure your set Latency to Auto in VDj
