Hey, just looking for some tips on a beginner setup:
Toshiba Equium A300D-13X laptop
basic internal soundcard with stereo output.
5.1 surround speaker setup
Lowrider mac reds headphones
running Ableton and VDJ (most recent versions).
Am I going to need an external usb soundcard to split the output so I can get the master to play on the speakers and the cue on the headphones?
If so, will something like this provide a decent sound quality or not?
SPEEDLINK SL-8850 UltraPortable Audio Card USB
I am also looking to buy a cheap midi controller and the best one I’ve seen for my needs is the M-Audio X-Session Pro USB MIDI DJ Mixer Controller:

any reccomendations or opinions on those choices would be wicked.. peace.

I use the M-Audio X-Session Pro USB MIDI DJ Mixer Controller and its fantastic, there is plenty of buttons and sliders to fully customise however you like.
I highly recomend it
