What's up guys? I'm trying to buy an external hard drive for my laptop 500GB usb 2.0, but I dont know which one to buy and where on the net to buy it, I want good service? I was thinking of getting this one from;

I've got the Western Digital 250Gb Dual Otion disk (WDXF2500JB) It works like a breeze over USB 2.0. (no problems with VDJ)

as long as you dont get IBM/Hitachi Deskstar, also know as "DEATHstar" :)

check what drive is inside the usb external box

Subject has been discussed before. Most external drives work with most systems... You should however notice that some manufacturers doesn't hold any guarantee when using it for mobile purposes. Depending on specific products ofcourse.

I recommend staying away from the LaCie 500Gb drives. I know of three people that have had alot of file corruption problems with their 500Gb Lacie drives. LaCie won't admit to it but it is in their RAID 0 implementation. The 500Gb LaCie's are actually 2 250Gb drives.
