Topic: VDJ 6.0 and NOD32 Antivirus

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Just a reminder to all. I had a nightmare trying to install VDJ 6.0 and was getting an installation error after installing my serial number. I uninstalled 6.0 and tried to re-install version 5.2.1 and got the same error. I ended up deleting my old version 5.3.1 VDJ folder and even deleted all traces of VDJ from the registry before I remembered that it is necessary to temporarily disable NOD32 antivirus. After doing that VDJ 6.0 installed fine. Just remember to re-enable NOD32.

Good job I was doing all this on my, now retired, ex DJ Laptop.

Right now for my gig Laptop................ don't disturb me, gonna be busy :-)

Thank you Sir for reminding the masses ... there are a few that are getting this ... I had forgotten about that NOD32 bugger ...

Again, Thanks.

The timing is good for me, beside DJing in my residencies every week I'm DJing in Ibiza in 2 weeks with it :-)

We discover that in some circumstances it corrupts the install ... and creates a protection error ... the solution is to turn it OFF during installation and first run ... after that you can turn it back on ...

hmm, still doesnt explain why it never happened in earlier versions... will give u an update when i install it tonite. I have 2 pc's i will do 1 clean install and 1 upgrade with both machines are running NOD32 3.0.65.0.

It did happen in earlier version ... look it's a hit or miss ... I don't have a technically line by line code explanation ... if you get the Protection Error 16 and you are running NOD32 then that is most likely the problem ... turn it OFF and reinstall the software ...

Just did a clean install with NOD32 running installed perfectly and connected to internet without an issue.. will give you an update when i get home and i do the upgrade on my other PC.

Cheers

Upgraded my home pc that had 5.2.1 to v6 no issues what so ever. picked up my bcd3000 had all my settings still the same even kept all my samples which previous versions didnt.
All my keys and bpms were still in tack even tho it came up saying my db was corrupt. Just ran fix & clean and all is now ok.

ok i know its not the right thread but BCD200 & 3000 does not work as a midi controller the jog wheel is irratic and not normal as it was in 5.2.1

other than that it installed all ok

BCD's needs to be remapped to vdj6.
Its easy to do.

To fix protection error 16, go to eservice.
Its not NOD

Nod32 can give an installation error only.

If it is easy to do why wasnt it done before the release of VDJ 6 my little apprentice lol

The BCDs were mapped with the default functionality based on the controller's labeled controls.

As for the 'irratic' jog wheel control -- have you tried changing the 'Jog Sensitivity' option on the Config -> Options tab?

Hello,

I have just resolved the same issue, that only happend with the
v6 installation process, even though I never had such problems
with previous installations.

The funny thing is, NOD's monitoring features have to be disabled
while installing the VDJ, but if you completely turn off the NOD
program it alerts the same error.

Just posting in case anyone else will encounter this problem.

Anyway, thanks to mp3jrick and this thread for good advice!
