Topic: Pro Audio Question

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I know this does not have much to do with VDJ but since we're all DJ's (and people tend to be nicer on this board rather than other places I've been) I figured I'd ask around here.

Basically, my problem is this: I can't seem to get my system in stereo.

I'm only hearing sound coming out of 1 channel.

The problem is how I'm forced to set this up. From the mixer we've got dual xlr's going into a single 1/4 input to the EQ.

Is there anyway I can get this running in stereo with this kind of setup?

What kind of EQ (brand, model) are you using? If you dropping from a dual channel into a single there is your problem. Example: My EQs have left and right inputs.

Well, it's not exactly an EQ - it's a bbe sonic maximizer. We use this instead of an EQ.

Since this thing only accepts single 1/4 inputs I'm wondering if there is any way I can possibly set this up in stereo.

I use the BBE Sonic Maximizer 882i and a dbx DriveRack PX and don't have any issues. Have you made sure that inputs/outputs are not confused. Check the settings and cables on your mixer. What controller are you using? Maybe the soundcard settings are off. It could be any number of things.
