This is one hell of a set-up for someone just getting into the game, especially someone with prior experience like yourself. This mixer is the 2 channel DJM-400 with 2 CDJ-400's. This combo pack is selling online for about $1700 US

Is this mixer....midi????
I have been looking into the CDJ-400 players for a while.. just needed to find a good midi mixer within budget

No, unfortunately not. I don't know of any two channel mixers that are. I personally have the DJM-800 which is a four channel mixer and has MIDI and a ton of other features and effects but it's quite pricey. There is an alternative that has less features but is really good, the DJM-700, it has four channels, is midi compatible, has some effects and features of the 800...but is considerably less expensive...

Pioneer DJM-700 (Silver)

Pioneer DJM-800 (Black)

@ Electric. If it wasnt for the turntables, programs like virtual dj, final scratch, serato, torq wouldnt be around. Turntables will be around for many more years and time codes will still sell by the tons

If it wasn't for the abacas and the slide rule and the pocket calculater we wouldn't have computers, that doesn't mean I still carry those around with me and my phone doesn't need to be tethered to the wall anymore either....like I said old school is for museums. If you fail to evolve you will become extinct, it is a law of nature!

Evolving is hooking up your excisting equipment to your tables. Using only vinyl is not evolving. The guy is more into scratching and he said that he wants to spend " Alittle " Let him deside.

How 's is the DJM-400 crossfader? I just want to know if it would be the best 2 channel scratch mixer if I were to decide to get two CDJ-800 with it or if there is a better mixer than DJM-400.
