My friend just got virtual dj and the track isn't starting on the bcd 3000 i have tried everything to fix it for her, do you guys have any suggestions about why it isn't working?

Check the sound configuration. If the wrong card is selected this type of behavior can happen.

Thanks for the quick answer we have tried every different setting. What setting do you usually have yours on?

you should have the BCD is the sound card option?? is it there - if not the drivers are not correctly installed.

I have it setup in the sound card section as bcd2000 sound card even though i have a bcd3000 controller. My mapping software for the bcd 3000 shows bcd2000 in the plug in is this the correct way to set it up? Or should I have a different mapping set up?

Ok what - is the soundcard working ok?? what i mean is, is it just the "controller" part that isnt working??
i would try this mapper http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/4031/Behringer_BCD3000_Mapper.html
Ensure it is enabled in the remote control section of the config (make sure it has a green border around the icon)

The controller is working. The song just stops playing after a few seconds.

Ok in which case it is probably a driver fault or settings within VDJ config.
I would suggest checking the drivers first: http://www.behringerdownload.de/B-Control_download/BCD3000-Vista-XP-1.2.0.0.zip
This is the latest driver update for the BCD3000 for XP and Vista.
If that installs fine and you still have a problem please can you list what settings are showing in the "Sounds Setup" pannel of the config menu.

Ok the settings that are being shown are outputs headphones, inputs none, sound card asio driver, bcd3000 driver. output channels, master channels 1and 2, headphones channels 3 and 4.

Ok that all sounds right to me. (puzzled now)
I would maybe try deleting the plugins (or at least moving them for now to eliminate them as the problem).
If you navigate to My Documents/VirtualDJ/Plugins/Control Device - if you move everything inside to another folder (for the time being) and see if you experience the same problem.
DO 2 THINGS:
1) start the track playing using the controller
2) start the track using the mouse on the PC
with the sound still set to the BCD3000 on both occasions
If you do still have the same problem then just put the plugins back - as that clearly isnt the problem.
Let me know how you get on with that - i am struggling for other ideas at the moment. :s

ok how did you sort this?? I am not a dj but i know my way about a laptop and software in general and have been tasked with fixing this issue for my mate. He has Virtual Dj5, I had the bcd selected then it played for 45secs. Then crashed so i swapped to Asio with BCD selected it then played for 45secs and crashed now am running on the primary sound card of the laptop it's been playing for some 10mins now and is fine but i'd rather it used the sound card of the Behringer CD2000.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks Chris

could you establish if your mate purchased the software from vdj, if not, try a trial download and see if this fixs the problem.

i bought for him so i know it's genuine it was bought from this website! As he wouldn't know how to hack software and i really couldn't be bothered fixing it for him. When it crashed every 5mins!. So yes the software is Genuine i know it is!
