It is bundled with VDJ - which version of the software are you using?

Hi, VDJ Pro 5.2.1.

to the right of the browser search bar select furthest right circle (bullseye) right click and tick karaoke.

now select effects > choose video effects tab > select karaoke (will highlight blue when chosen) > select activate, now choose from one of the three tabs to the top right... list, config and next

hope that helps

Many thanks!! I will give it a go.

no probs

Hi again. That did not work. What I need is something so I can list the singers with the songs, rather than write them down.

I had a similar prob when i fisrt started using VDJ. I needed to update something but I cant remember what it was. Hopefully someone will see this and tell you what to update.

Can anyone help me please?

i have the same problem. i have vdj 5.2 and yesterday i went to show my cousin the karaoke on vdj and told him that there is a singer list when you activate it> so when i highlighted karaoke there was no activate button> i had it on previous versions so what happened to this one

I've only got the trial version at the moment (almost finished testing and will buy licence soon) and the Karaoke plug-in came pre-installed and has the activate button.

The update was the Direct X if that helps.

Puzzled why you need to write them down? If some one puts a slip in they sing their song in order of submission then rotate then put any of their others in a rotation pile, giving priority to those who have been a the venue the earliest. Any folk who comes in the last hour may or may not get to sing. I don't use the the VDJ list plugin as its always caused problems and creates work but from the point of view of folk seeing that they are next on the screen is a good idea, however its far more productive when introducing a singer to inform the punters who is on next enabling a little banter whilst the present star singer is making their way to the mic.

thats what i was about to say. i did it last night and tested it and i am back in business, also i would not hurt after teh update on the dirext x to reinstall the vdj software. you beat me to the punch djbojett

I too just upgraded to 5.2.1 and when I highlight karaoke there is no activate button. Are you sure that it means I have to upgrade my DirectX? I thought there was a problem awhile ago with people who were using VDJ/Windows Vista and upgrading to the latest Direct X version... has that been resolved? Are you sure upgrading DirectX is the way to solve this issue? Thanks for any clarification... better safe than sorry... Isn't DirectX one of the installs that you can't go backwards on?

I just tried to open the Karaoke Plugin again and now when I click on the word Karaoke within Video Effects I get the following error message "The application has failed to start because d3dx9_33.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this prolem." I reinstalled but there was no change. I checked my direct X using the direct x diagnostic tool and it wouldn't complete until I allowed it to not diagnose direct show. Then it compleed without a problem and told me I have direct x 10 installed. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!

From memory you have to download Direct x 9

Works fine for me i went to microsoft website and downloaded the direct x end-user runtime this installs all previuos direct x and the latest.

just make sure that you do the update of direct x first, then reinstall virtual dj

I agree with chrisso710. I use virtual dj for my karaoke too. Much better then S&D. I use slip the karaoke pluggin is crappy and hard to use. Slips work just fine for me too!
