Can we only use these updates and effects if we only bought it off this website what if we bought the software from the store can we still use this website because I put in the serial number and it said it did not match my email address, does anyone know?

As far as I know this software can ONLY be purchased from THIS website. If you purchased this from anywhere else except here, then it is an illegal copy. So to answer your question NO.
Go back to the store where you got it and ask for your money back and get it from here.
