Topic: MP3 Spitter Software

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey Team just wondering about something...I am looking for a software that will allow me to split a MP3 into tracks. I want to be able to put a mix onto a MP3 player with tracks that are split so that the user will see one song but will be able to jump to various parts of the mix.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Jimmy I will check it out.

EDIT...Doesn't look like that is what I am looking for.

Closest I can think of if JB's isn't what you are looking for, is to make a cue-file for the MP3 and put it on a compliant MP3-player, that way you can jump in one file as if it were many, but it's still one, is that what you're looking for?

Yeah sounds like it.

Do you have a link?

Well, not really, best I can do is show you a template.

PERFORMER "Name of the performer"
TITLE "Name of the CD"
FILE "exact file name" file format (MP3 most likely)
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "track name"
PERFORMER "track performer"
INDEX 01 00:00:00 Where the track begins
TRACK 02 AUDIO
TITLE "track name"
PERFORMER "track performer"
INDEX 01 05:00:0 Beginning of this track

etc.

then you save that in the same folder as the mp3 with the exact same name, except it's .cue and not mp3.

Hey Dj Maddsound I use a software that is called "Sony CD Architect", its not that hard you can find some Video Tutorials in YouTube
Its over $100, but you can download the Free Trial, and if its what your looking for then it shouldnt be a waste of money..

here check it out.. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/cdarchitect

nero
right click long mp3 file
index and splits tab
zoom in
play the long track
"index" the exact points u want
burn.

the long file is untouched.
good to save the nero file on C:\ so that u can use those points on a different computer. (or zip the mix with the nero file so that friends can burn their own copies)

I think what you want is not really implemented in the mp3 standard. You can create a cue file and burn your mix to a normal "Redbook" audio cd. There your listeners can jump via the buttons to the next or the previous track mark.

Some mp3 players implementing things like a kind of a bookmark. With this players it could be possible to set track markers at the positions you wish. But on normal mp3 players i think this will not work at all.

Greetings, Heiko

Nero works for me, just like is stated above.

I cant be bothered with all that messing around with cue points and crap - try cdwav - just click where you want the split and it splits the big wav into separate wav files for you. US$15 www.cdwave.com
