Topic: New MAcbook Pro UNIBODY and USB

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Any reported USB issues with the new Macbook Pro Unibody ? Am about to switch to the new Macbook Pro, i have the old generation, i know this much, we needed to use the left USB port near the power input to work with sound cards or controlers.

Just a lil simple question as if they resolved it or not ?

Thanks and cheers

I have had an issue with the new unibody units my Audio 8 DJ losses connection after aprox 2 hours of usage. The new unibody MBPs seem to only allow large power through one USB port.

I now use a HC4500 and have no issues whatssoever well the odd crash but thats not an USB issue

I see, so wich port is better to use ? The One near the power plug or the one near firewire ?

either will work fine once u dont have too much power being taken from two concurrently.

I was using the Audio 8 Sound card and a DAC 3 and it seemed to be too much.

Now I use the HC4500 and as its only 1 port drawing power it has been A OK

Great ill try that out at my gig on friday night and see how stable it is.

Thanks, will keep you posted.
