hey guys,
is there a way to get the vestax vci-100 to "feel" more like turntables in virtual DJ? What i mean is, when a song is playing, and i apply pressure to the top of the jog wheels, i expect the song to stop playing.
i've experienced this with other software and didn't know how to achieve that effect with virtual DJ.
thanks!

It would be possible as the total control has this effect in VDJ - would have to be mapped though.

Eh? Mine does that all the time (latest version 5.2.1 with native support for the VCI-100). Pressure on the top of the jog wheels will stop the song/video. The plastic edges of the jog wheels however are for temporary pitch bend to line up your beats if you're beatmixing.

DJ Soulman:
Hmm?! i'll fiddle with my Vestax's settings in the back to see if that helps. but, so far, i haven't had to do that with the other software (ie: Traktor)
Do you think you could describe your settings on the Vestax? specifically what your Touch Sensor Level is.
thank you sir.

Both knobs on the rear of the VCI need to be in the neutral position.
Once the VCI-100 is enabled in VDJ (native support) the controller will work in the way you described.
What version of the software are you using? Demo? I'm not sure if this feature is absent from the demo, or if you have a dated version of VDJ in which case the VCI-100 is only supported from the midi mapping feature.

i don't friggin get it!! this is driving me insane!
my touch sensors have always been in the neutral position. i'm currently using VDJ 5.2 pro. it definitely has an option for the VCI-100. i'm just not getting a "turntable" like feel with this software. i really like VDJ and want to continue to use it. i just need to get these tracks to stop on a dime when i hold the top of the jog wheel plate.
does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this? i appreciate you guys taking time out to help me with this.
update: i've launched VDJ, de-selected the VCI-100 in the Remote Control list, closed the program, re-launched the program, selected the VCI-100, and it still doesn't work right. i can clearly see that i'm applying pressure to the jog wheel plate because the sensor light illuminates as does the jog wheel light (red color). however, the track keeps on playing when i apply pressure.
why won't this work?!! like i said. if i launch a different program, no problem. but i ONLY want to use VDJ. somebody please lend me their expertise.
thanks guys!!

i also noticed when clicking on the wave info at the top (while track is playing) i get the same result. i thought i could pause the track by simply clicking on the wave?
