Topic: HOW DO I CREATE A SAMPLE WITH BPM

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I HAVE BEEN ADDING JINGLES AND SAMPLES BUT THEY WONT PLAY ACCORDING TO THE BPM OF THE TRACK BEING PLAYED, HOW DO I MAKE MY SAMPLES HAVE BPM, JUST LIKE THE SAMPLES VDJ CAME WITH (PUSH, PUSH, PUSH, ETC)

In the sampler screen underneath where it selects "Jingle" or "Loop" is an option button, click on that and select "Beatlock".

(Please refrain from using capitals like that - there is no need to shout! - thanks)

Hi, load the sound effect into one of the main decks in vdj, then manually set the CBG (computer beat grid- the squares underneath the waveform) to whatever you want it to be. I can explain in a bit more detail if you're not sure how to do that.

Then it should go in time when you load it in the sample bank right?

I understand what you saying clearly, good idea.

But also I tried and it didn't work.

Could I send you a file...(sample) and you try setting the bpm to see if successful.

I am in the same situation. Loops do not sync with the deck. As the previous poster said, all correct options are ticked but it does not lock.

If this is broken, please fix it!

Thanks.

Hello

I built myself a loop library of well-known songs, like Billie Jean Bassline, Benassi Satisfaction etc.
This is how I make my loops tight and perfect sync:

First, I always use the same reference song, loaded in Deck 1. This MUST be with perfect CBG, otherwise all loops will be out of sync...

1. Loop the reference deck (1), for 8 beats.
2. Load deck 2 with sound to sample, loop to desired length.
3. Press sync at deck 2
4. Use pitchbend to make the loop sound tight into the reference beat
- if needed, change BPm thru BPM window at deck 2. Start over from point 2
5. At deck 2 (sample), click BPM and "Copy from other deck". (Other deck is deck 1 = reference)
6. Select deck 2 as active deck.
7. Press REC at sampler (whatever channel)
8. Use Sampler options to save...

Remember. If you're trying to sync these to a "bad CFG" track, it would end up in disaster. For correct CBG-tracks these loops can really spice up your gig!

Good luck.

One more thing.

If your perfect tuned loops doesn't sync with your tune, adjust PHASE for the song thru BPM window.
All your tunes PHASE/CBG has to match the selected reference beat you choose.
