This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am trying to use songverter to convert my zip files so they will work. after 3 hours of it unzipping and rezipping the files. i open the files and it erased all my karaoke files :( . good thing I have a backup :) . any info on how I should convert them and sort them on my harddrive would be greatly appreciated

I use a program called KJ File manager by latshaw systems. It can do a lot, Zip / unzip your files and sort out your songs. Capitals full stops etc.
Remove Disc ID's, Swap round Artist, Title etc.

Play around with the software first by using copys of your files and not the orginal till you get it into the format you want.

They have a trial version but you can only do 10 songs at a time or you can buy it for $79 which is worth every penny to organise your karaoke songs.

I also make all my karaoke songs Full Caps so that when i search for songs in VDJ it's easier to see them within the browser rather than use the tiny K symbols by the song.

They also have a free programme called File Synchronizer why is great to sync folders of music or karaoke songs for backup. And it's free!!!

Hope this Helps

I only had about 4000 titles so i put both the cdg and the mp3 files in the same folder then ran the whole folder through Songverter and had no problems whatsoever....that is the only time I ever used the program (except a couple test runs) but it worked great.

I just have them sorted in 26 folders A-Z based on the artist and then in the Karaoke book I have 1 printed list sorted by artist and a second printed list sorted by title.
