Topic: Help with Promo Only Music Video DVD's

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello All,

I am new to the Forums and need some help. I am having a hell of a time with my Promo Only Music Video DVD's. How can I get them into Cue 5 video with Artist and Title information? I have about 40 that I need in by tomorrow for a Inauguration gig. I have heard through the Forum that SmartRipper is good then I read DJ Extractor. I want something easy to use yet powerful in its quality. I will be projecting onto 20 big screens and want top quality.

Thanks for your quick help,

Marc

I use Smartripper. What do you need to know? What is Cue 5? What videos and rippers did you use before?

Download the program below, it's will rip and name your titles for you, a very big time saver.

The video files will be .VOB which is the best quality you can get. (Just don't use the re-code function)

http://lmoffice.com/DJExtractor/home.htm

If you use the proper settings it will also split the files that have the annoying intros into two separate files and you can delete the intro junk) Works with Promoonly & Screenplay Discs.

If you like the program you can donate a few bucks to Luis the developer if you want, he's a good guy.
I love this program. PM me if you have any trouble, I use this program every week and have it down pretty well.

You need to start this ASAP, cause it takes time to rip each DVD. and as you say you have 40 that you need in by tomorrow...

is that 40 DVDs or just 40 tracks??

In my experiance it could take between 30 to 60 mins per DVD.

I did 40 DVDs, too best part of a week.

Anyhow, good luck with your Gig matey. :)

wished i was there, gonna be a hell of a party,

Thanks djrenee for the link, I will try that out. You are one very attractive DJ, and fully clothed. Go figure.

Mark, the program I recommended uses DVD Decrypter as the ripper. I can rip Promoonly videos at the rate of 1 video every 15-20 seconds. It's VERY fast. :^)

I stripped down one time while working, there was a waiting line to get OUT THE DOOR. :^(

BACK ON TOPIC

Its not about sensoring, the posts were leveled up so as the OP will be able to find his answers. The posts that were leveled had nothing to do with the original question asked, and this is nothing personal towards any of you. We as moderators were told we need to start keeping the posts on topic as all this kinda stuff does is add to the confusion of the original topic.

Renee I will look at what you use to rip as it seems faster than the way I do it. Does this include the track info or do u need to add that individually??

OK, all is well.

Thanks for your help. I have in the meantime downloaded and started ripping with DJ Extractor. I have found it okay but am frustrated by the fact it will not allow me to choose the destination folder. I see where that option is available but when I go to choose it it defaults back to the application folder. I want to rip to my external drive for transport. I was able to stop it once and select my external but it runs so fast it starts ripping before it gives you time to select the drive.

Any suggestions?

Also I am ripping 40 full DVD's and Numark Cue 5 is Virtual DJ for those who asked.

Another question; How can I get album covers in in the file for Cue 5 as fast as this DJ Extractor gets the Artist and Title? Am I dreaming?

Thanks,

Marc

"have found it okay but am frustrated by the fact it will not allow me to choose the destination folder."

Yes it does.... I will help you just PM mail me where I can send you the info...

No need to answer here. (You too could be moderated) for NOT reading what I told you the first time.

DJrenee, hold it right there. DO NOT LEAVE ME HERE WITH ALL THESE MEN. Please, baby, baby, please, baby, baby, please, baby, baby, (from the first Spike Lee movie, "She's got to have it"). Plus, your balls are bigger than some of these guys.

if you want album art (for coverflow), you can add a .jpg file for every video file you wish.

so if my video is called 'Robyn - With Every Heartbeat.vob' the artwork file should be called 'Robyn - With Every Heartbeat.vob.jpg'

thats the way ive found best, as i cannot embed artwork into video files.

there is an album art tool at tool townloads at this site..

Other than that, VDJ will find them too..

Mark... listen to me honey...
You are on tight schedule and you are worried about "album covers"?

This is one feature I keep hidden, can't see a reason to use it) ... no more posting for you.... start RIPPING.

Mr. Comedy Central Inc. (Nice T-back... do they make that in men's size? LMAO
I respect a lot of things I read here that I only wish I could grasp. What I don't respect is people with no common sense.... I think YOU GET IT.
