Topic: can only install twice

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

i have vdj on my desktop and on my laptop. i am having troubles with my laptop so i want to wipe everything clean and reinstall vdj. can i do this? another part of my problem is that i have two vdj applications on my desktop. one that says vdj (dj console), this was the limited version that came with my hercules controller. there is a seperate icon for my pro edition. i'm hoping i can uninstall both and start over.

if im uninstalling then reinstalling it onto the same computer im good right?
 
Hy,
sure, go to deinstall both of your notebook installations.
Make a copy of your pro database (xml) or do after the new installtion all scans etc. new.
After the deinst, clean the regstry.
Then install vdj new.

Yes u can but i would advise to just use the vdj pro on ur gig lappy;)

And as haui70 say, make a copy.

and to install the new do i need to install the limited version off the disc that came with the controller or can i skip that and just get full off of here?

what exactly do i need to copy?
 
If u need the limited edition, u download it here as in the download center is the recent ones:)

But seriously, to me u don't really need the limited edition. I don't use the djc edition even i have one;)
 
No, install only the pro from your download center.
the pro has everthing you need.
If you have xp or vista, serach for the database file (XML), right mouse klick to copy and paste them into a save folder or a usb-stick.

the database etc ..or whatever inside ur vdj folder that u have the effect,skins or plugins etc...This only for achive purpose in case anything go wrong. u can paste back. For the plugins etc u can just overwrite it later after new installed at the documents.

Yes Haui70 that is what i told him is to just installed PRO. I just inform him not to use the CD if he want to have the limited edition. He can go straight to have the recent LE or PRO in the download center;)
