OK 2 days into namm and no real concrete NS7 news. To me that may or may not be a good sign. So now let's say the ns7 is a bust. What else is out there. I do not have VV or time codes and don't plan on getting them .... any suggestions. Right now my only though is to abandon VDJ and got to the VCI-300

Hi, no news is good news at this stage as its not far off.

There is no real competitor at this stage.

Everything is coming along nicely, the only remaining thing to say was the case will be available.

ok good i will now abort panic mode..... it is just i may be djing at the same spot that dj am and dj scene ect play in town so i need to have the best tools available

Just keep dangling that carrot simon, lol

I'm glad I'm not waiting on it, lol

Im pulling for the VCI-300 running in native mode and it work like at least 95% of the time. Dont want have to "wet my fingers" like the torq to scratch or some other crazy issue.

you talking bout with vdj use or with itch???????

VDJ. Im sure it works great with Itch. But I need my BPMS, getting too old to remember the BPMs and Videos.

The NS7 will be open for support from any software, so VDJ will get it native I bet ;)

I had a look at the promo on http://www.numark.com/content211157.html and on the first youtube link they make it sound like you dont need to have an external or second soundcard to use this properly. I couldnt see in the tech specs anything about a soundcard included in the system. Does it have a soundcard or is that an extra cost.

It includes an utra low latency soundcard, with dual XLR output , master phono and record phono outs.

Thats impossible, as Vestax has not offered a midi driver and it seems due to contractual agreements have no plan to do so.

So I guess that means VCI-300 will be ITCH only, that sucks!

if only the NS7 was cheaper

For me if it was smaller.....

It shouldnt be smaller its specifically made for scratching which you need more hands on feel than using one finger. If you just loop or beatmatch only you can get away with having tiny jog wheels.

i dont understand the constant bashing on the size of it, i think size is perfect, is better than carrying three cases worth of turntables/cdjs and mixer (or just one case carrying those three...still big)
if u talk about being in a club and havin no space, i find it about the same problem just as if u bring ur cdjs and such, if the club already has cdjs/turntables there will be no space for ur equipment no matter what it is
while it may not be as "portable" as an rmx or a total control (or omni), it has to have better functionaility than those

There is an open midi converter floating around, so anyone that want to support the vci 300 can

And any exclusivitity Vestax might have signed , usually end pretty quick. Just like Denon with PCDJ

There is nothing wrong with the size of the NS7, I just want smaller because I live on planes, so smaller is better for m situation, since I travel ALOT!

well since i started this thread i guess this is a good of place as any to add this.... I am no longer waiting on the NS7. I have an important gig in the next couple of weeks and need something more than my total control. So weighing all options I will go back to the VCI-300. Hope that it becomes native but honestly this is all about using what you need to use and what works for you. which is the summary of all the controller threads on this site
