I thought I would try here before posting in technical section, seeing as your all bright sparks etc etc...
I get a high pitch whine from my tcv, and its starting to get louder, not noticable at high volume but by god its irritating.
I have changed stylus etc, it just dont go!!!
oh and yes the tt's are earthed.
Is it fixable or shall I just end it all with a sharpened potatoe?

you mean from the physical vinyl, and needle... or through your speakers?
The needle wine, is a bit annoying yes, but wont get heard on on the speaker system

its coming thru my speakers!!!
Its trying to kill meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
ok I am exagerating, but at low volume its like the noise you hear when your being brainwashed (dont ask how I know)

You do get a slight wine from the stylus/cart picking the timecode up thats normal, well I hope it is, lol
but though your speakers, no I don't think so. Could it be possibly be a earth fault from your TT's.

it was from a friends maya. if i remember rightly you need to turn off the monitor or the input in the maya 44 config so that it just goes to vdj and not direct to output (think thats right wil double check when i see him at weekend)
googles you friend. hopefully this will help
