Topic: This guy is CRAZY

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I used to work in a club at CRETE .....Last saturday at the end of a very good night that evthing worked out fine and after i had packed my gig setup(YES i use my equipment pc,soundcard e.t.c)the owner attacked me with phrazes i couldnt even imagine and pushing me arround the club infront all the other guys told me that I MUST NEVER TAKE AWAY MY EQUIPMENT because its not a pros behavior and if ido i will be in trouble....i tried to be calm and try to explain but he wasnt listening,he folowed me at my car yelling and in a way beating me at my back.I realy thought to call the police but i know nobody will care...Anyway,the next day he called me not to apologize but to go at the club to put my equipment back(the club has allready its own)i told him of course that this is not possible and that i dont want to work there again.Eversince and after he said many many dirty stuff about me by the phone he told me that i will never find job again as long as it is up to him...I work as a dj for 20 years its the first time that sthing like this is going on.i really dont know how to react..

Quite evidently the owner realises your equipment is far superior to what he is using and thought he could bully you into leaving it, I doubt you would ever see your gear again let alone be allowed into that club again to retrieve it.

My advice is stay well clear of it, because smacking an owner in the face will not go down well with his henchmen.

Sounds like hes been using your gear behind your back if you ask me, never work there again.

call the police yourself is what i would of done. he is harrassing you. have a police report just in case you need to go to court

I would of turned round and launched the twat, club boss or not, but that's just me.

yep, no doubt about it mate, but the guy may not be like us... got to get him on the snakebite, lol

I Make the Venue owner aware of what equipment is MINE and what belongs to the place 'At the start of the night'
before i even bring in anything of mine.

Though i quite agree that that club owner was obviously so drunk at the end of night, that he couldnt tell the difference between your gear and his own.

im gonna start making a list of all my gear and im gonna make the bar owner / prommoter / manager sign a copy to vaify that the gear listed and checked at start of night belongs to the DJ. (ie. me.)

Well lets put things in an order....the club owners here is a kind....lets say mafia....good relations with the police, guns and all these things that give the nightmare to all of us we just need to work.So going to police is out of question or even a fight could cause you more than it will sort out...i just quited got my equipment and hope for better luck in the next club....i m meeting the owner tonight .She is a lady i hope not only in words....KEEP AWAY from these guys.AND the worst of all the guy was completely aware of what i was bringing with me every night, you see i have been working there for tree months without any problems about taking in and out my gig tools..

Mark the owner was after the guys gear and just wanted to get his hands on it by hook or by crook, as for the tosser/owner threatning fenderiscs lively hood I don't think any venues would follow his advice to stop him from djing at there gigs.

LMAO!!!!!!!!

Greatmesk !!! you just made my day !!
hahaha

to the main post, man i would not know what to do in a situation like that id be too freak out to even fight back...
*shrugs hides equipment and runs away...never goin back*

I know what these guys are saying and that it sounds very tempting but I'd seriously consider taking any form of physical retalitation as a very last resort action!

Nomatter how much of a w@nker the bloke is the last thing you want is to end up in jail for hitting him.

At the end of the day your the bigger and better man for walking away - stay well clear of him and if his clubis a part of a major company (for example in the UK there is a company called Luminar that own's lots of nightclubs) report him to the head office.

I hope it all works out for you my friend!!

one thing is for sure.. I bet he would not try doing that in Jamaica
Not even his henchmen would allow it.. knowing the situation

Guys i would love to work in your countries..... but in Greece and especially in CRETE things in nightlife are very diferent and sometimes dangerous .... i have been through crazy situations but this one was hell of a strange thas why i mentioned it...and one last thing. The DJS here are like the last wheel of a cart..not impontant at all...in adition with the ladies with the airbags working inside the bar...at least nobody bothers if they take their equipment at home...

think what may be a good idea is if the DJ's on the island can get a little system together were they warn each other of characters like him, now how practical and how many would want to join a system like this you would have to be the one to initiated... just an idea for you.
