Those are the complete specs for my laptop. I have updated to DirectX 9. I have also updated to the most current NVIDIA video drivers.

The ONLY way I can even get a single to play past 5 seconds without freezing is to uncheck hardware acceleration in the video tab but obviously this limits me in many ways. I have been VDJ user for quite some time and just recently decided to make the video jump. Needless to say I'm VERY frustrated and disappointed. My laptop has plenty of power and resources to do video. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have had kinda the same issue. Every now and then mostly part way through the night when I play a video it will freeze the video but not the audio as soon as the last one playing stops. I have found a temporay fix that has worked fine. When it freezes I load a video or audio track into the opposite player and the froze videos keeps playing.

bump

this video freeze (unfreeze on next track) was cured on my system with VISTA (!!!!?!!)

i had this with a gForce 6600 card

my thoughts:

its a DX10 certified card and XP dosent support DX10 (only upto DX9 )

just my 2cents :)

in the end i changed that card for a gForce 6800 (XFX Alpha Dog Edition)
and in XP video never pauses, to wait for the next track to load.

so try vista (if possibe on the laptop in the 1st post in this thread)

in saying that, some problems may arise with other programs (hehe)

i have vista ultimate 32 bit and i get the same problem.
my laptop is a dual core t9500
1gn nvidia 9650 gt dedicated
4gb of ram

what do i need to do?

There are two different video freeze problems on this thread.

To the OP with videos not playing...

Is it possible that it's a video codec problem?

What video files are they, and what are they set to on the codecs tab in VDJ?

You could try switching to an alternate decoder - for example using the Windows Media instead of Internal, or vice versa.

Just as a test like!

All my video types freeze on several different type of codecs. They freeze for about 10 seconds then pick up again. NVidea geForce 7300 on a laptop with 2 gByte ram? have latest directX9 nov. 2008, latest drivers, etc. too, it is NOT specifically a DX10 card?

I think Nvidia may be your issue. Have not had any problems like this with ATI. Are you using laptop or desktop?? Also have you tried Vista??

Fixing Virtual DJ Video Freezing problem: I tried many options finally figure out the problem. It's the Hardware Acceleration. If your running Windows OS go to your display settings right click onto you desktop and click properties go to settings and click on Advance look for
troubleshoot tab click onto it and you'll see Hardware Acceleration am sure right now it's set to full go ahead and set it down 2 notches down and click ok. Now you should be able to play both videos without freezing. If you have any other problem with other softwares go ahead and reset it back to full. Hope this helps! Let me know by replying to this forum if it works for you guys Thanks!

Crazy8s - stop spamming the forum ... you do no good by blasting every thread with a solution that only fixes your issue because of an under performing video card - hence the reason you have to uncheck Hardware Acceleration.

Also, try the latest version if you have not done so already.
