Topic: Recording Video Mixes?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to record video mixes the same way you can record audio mixes.

Thanks!

with the Démo of vdj --> http://www.virtualdj.com/download/trial.html

in record movie -> config -> codec brand dvix

I bought a Sony DVD recorder a couple of years ago and didn't use it because it was going to eat discs made of live sets that I might not want.
I tried the re writable but still couldn't edit them without more PITA.
Did get a couple of good ones, I sent one to Digital Wiz in Jamaica.
That was the last one I did actually that way.

Then I found Fraps with the help of people here and was pretty happy.
After that I wanted the means to edit which meant Vegas 8 because I had Vista.
Loaded it up and had all kinds of problems and Sony was super on the phone and hooking me up with a new install that works great.

Then I needed a way to make a component dvd machine play the disc and loaded DVD architect that came with the Vegas.

Fraps makes nice 3.9g avi files which can get joinded up again with video dub or Vegas.
From there I load them into architect and it compiles and compresses to a standard 4.7g disc.

I bought a Dymo disc painter that I saw in AC, got hub printable dvds and cd's and now I have custom made incredible audio and video demo discs. Even has my logo font in the software which I have had trouble finding.
The other thing I use this for is party picture discs.
Clients eat it up.

Anywy, thats where it went for me if you are interested.
Extermely pleased with the results.

ok , now im more lost then ever . I loaded the reg tool and still cant get this thing working . IM lost , im getting really tired of trying to find solutions in forums.

Video recording is not working 100% now, you will have to wait update or use Fraps or another solution. Remember, to be able to Mix videos and record at the same time on the same machine you need a MONSTER machine ;)

It can be done with a little effort. As ALF was saying to you the RECORD video function of doesn;t seem to be 100% as of yet. I'm sure DEV team is working one it.

Yes... Rick... that demo you sent me loved it
Of course... i was just beginning my vid thing .. cannot forget your assistance ever in acquiring machine and hardware.. controllers etc... and your many hours of technical support and advice The system setup still works great for me and I have added TCCDS to my setup for nearly two years now

But your demo inspired me mon . got me to understanding just how much impact this video thing was capable of.

I tried Fraps..... did not work for me at the time.. worked later on though

Then i followed Rick.. got myself a Stand alone DVD recorder... (now he tells me it did not work for him).. but it worked for me
.. lots of practice.. and wasted DVDs..got myself to a point where i could record an entire hour set mistake free.. (serious here) did quite a few recordings... of course i had to deal with moving 5 minute chapters throughout the DVD.

I continue to use a stand alone dvd..but needed to do post editing in terms of packaging ... actually ripped the DVD to VOBs and drag to Sony Vegas... (of course the issue with quality.. in terms of the recorded output that came from VDJ came up).
Showing on a TV recordings look great.. but on computer.... the quality loss was way obvious.

I have a friend (streaming_dj) who uses ARCHOS to record his live sets... this captures in digital format and only needs copying to computer for editing if necessary.....no ripping here. ARCHOS it would seem may be the solution to many of us problems.. wish i could tell you more.. but Streaming_dj is the one to ask here
