It really depends on your needs, budget and personal comfort.

The list of good headphones is Waaaaaaaaay too long to list. Headphones can range in price from $20 to $300 and up.

Try looking at sites like pssl and musicians friend for suggestions on which headphones will be best for YOU and what you will be doing.

love my sony's (V700's) but i know some have had issues with their build quality. i just treat mine right and don't let anyone touch them - same 2 pair in the booth for the last 4 years.

Technics or Grados should be good.

Grados are more for audiophiles, Technics more for Dj's...
Don't spend too much cause headphones break depending on how much you abuse them...

My 1st headphone is Technics RPDH-1200 = tough and sound good, medium price, i'm using it for 4 years now and still alive!
My recent headphone is Pioneer HDJ2000 = sound so sweet and the built is superb! pricey obviously but its worthed.

i got the pioneer 1000,comfortable and sound aiight not mad at them..

I use the beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros. One of the best sets I've ever listened to, amazing clarity and bass, perfect for house genres, Only problem is they can be a bit low on sound at times, only about 95 dB, but unless you're a really loud place they do the trick. Not as flexible as dedicated DJ headphones, due to being studio, but they really do the trick.

If you've got about 200 dollars to spend, I'd say go for it.

If you need cost efficiency .... Behringer makes a decent headphone set at an amazing price for around 50 bucks. I myself have a pair of the sony V700's and also a pair of the Pioneer 1000's. Both are pretty decent but the pioneers have better sound quailty and power ability in my opinion. If you can spare the extra change ... I would recommend the Pioneer 1000's. About $170 bucks. The sony's go for around $130 bucks. Good luck in deciding.

Pioneer SE-DJ5000 headphones kick ass: $100.

Bought the first pair in 2001. Tore 'em up to make stick headphones. Work great. Latest pair are intact and have served me well for about a year and a half, now.
