Topic: I WONDER WHY???? - SO STRANGE

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Every time a new controller comes out or midi fader or gadget... I hear mention of them being able to work with Serato.. Tractor... even PCDJ and Resolume at times. No matter how I read the write up there is no mention of Virtual Dj at all. So many controllers, so many write ups.. no mention of VDJ in any of them. (Virtual Cue and ICDX era dont count) I wonder why this is so?... I find it more than a tad strange.. and it worries me. Almost as if VDJ does not exist.

Has anyone else noticed this??

yup ive noticed this and i really dnt like that..many people say dnt biy VDJ becuase many controllers are not compatible with it..and i dont want to change from VDJ cuz i like it but its never really compatible with anything..

Is VDJ failing somewhere in the marketing department..... or promotional department.. To me VDJ seems to be everywhere.. The software is pretty good and seems to hold its place in comparison to many and offers so much. So why the lock out?? Is it some orchestrated plot????

i dnt know but i think some teamers need to jump in and tell us wuts up..

man.. i wish i knew... right now the vestax 300 and the ns7 look like controllers to solve quite a few probs... hmmm.... guess eventually a great one will come our way.

I hear ya, VDJ is just about non-existant in the trade mags (DJ Times, Mobile Beat), never promoted anywhere. I've done a few promo videos for a local DJ equipment distributor describing the new MIDI controllers, and it was stressed to mention the compatibility with Serato, but not to mention VDJ.

I don't get it either. It almost feels as though we are an inderground group of DJs using a blacklisted item....

I have been echoing this from I bought VDJ in 2006 that Atomix needs to make a timecode box soley for the VDJ application, this was never materialized.
Now we see the upserge in USB midi controllers which inadvertently is the way of the future interms of VJ'n / Dj'n, again we see Serato ITCH been branded on all then Midi controllers yet still no Atomix. I really like VDJ as it offers a host of options with the application, however being proactive is a key business principle for viabilty and right I'm not seeing where Atomix is avidly working in this area.
Is it a lack for foresight/vision or resources or just plain business politics why we VDJ'rs are being left out of the loop?
Come on Atomix, I implore that the management team get with it or your software will eventually get obsolete.

My 0.02 cents

I've been trying for months to get my MIDI controller and MIDI mixer working properly. There has been little to no support form these forums from the developers and no updates for a while. I understand that there a lot of issues with each PC/System configuration available, but at the end of the day I have $3k of new hardware that won't work consistantly with this software - and no indication or feedback form the devs that this is going to change anytime soon.
Maybe this is why...

Taipanic
Denon DN-HS5500
Korg Zero4
Toshiba Satelitte laptop

PS: I WANT to use this program. I like it, I like the features, I've spent the money to show that. But as is I cannot use it professionally and might have to start looking at other options

VDJ has improved in many ways... in terms of timecode. Still not a hundred percent for all persons.. for me.... it works for me..
VDJ program is beyond everyone else.. yet the simplicity of other programs simply rely on sound quality.. timecode response and stability. Yes i understand that they do have their own box....

What pains me is that now the concentration has switched from timecode basically to USB midi controllers.. which should mean more stability for VDJ users too but alas.... again... every it seems that the software is being left behind.
