as it states in the thread i just wanna know if my mp3s at 192 kbps are a good enough encode to be playing at a large pub or large nightclub? most of my music collections are 320kbps or flac encodes but i have the odd mp3 at 192kbps and was wondering will it sound bad or distorted?

All of my mp3's are at 320kbps, but to be honest 192 is fine, the punters won't be able to tell the difference. Anything less and you MAY notice, but you would have to have ears like a bat to notice the difference in quality.

192Kbps is the bare min!!! it really is the best is like jimmyB said 320Kbps its pretty much the industry standard! all of mine are 320Kbps or higher, 192 is just ok but if its 128 just dont bother, TIP02 try using a 128 Kbps track with the same track at 320Kbps and see if you can spot the difference!
p.s i dont know y im doing these tip things but ive had a few and they will prob be a perminte feature!!!

fair enough but are 128kbps definitely out of the question? I have about 120gb folder of music, some are flac, some are 320kbps, in fact i would say the majority is above 192kbps but still i have quite a few good cds at 128 and 192kbps, would it be bad to play these, as in out of the question, i havent done a gig yet so i wouldnt be able to try and compare the different rips , im only practising yet but id say the pub i work in might give me a night or two to start me off but id like to know before hand if 192 and 128's are totally unplayable

You can use 128 if it is ripped good and sounds fair enough. For best songs try to find at least 192kbit/s.
