Topic: Trying to stop my new harddrive going into sleep mode, in Vista

I've got a new harddrive and I want to see if I can change the power settings for it so it stays on all the time and doesn't go into a "sleep mode" when not in use, as it done it to me this morning.

I'm using Vista, and I can't find this option anywhere, even if I go into the Properties of the new harddrive. My old harddrive had a icon on my toolbar I could click on and open it up, but I can't find anything like that with this new one.

Can someone help, if it is possible.

Is it a western digital ? If so give this a try http://www.softjock.com/MDIS.exe

It works for me with vista. Simply start the program up, select the drove you want checked. Click start and minimized. I run it to check my drive every three minutes and with those settings works well.

If the drive falls asleep from inactivity this program should solve the issue.
