There are 3 new pieces of technology that i Think can be combined to make a really interesting dj interface / setup

1) use of multi-touch
2) Multi-touch with touch Pressure sensitivity
3) Use of a large display converted to a multi-touch display (i.e. http://www.instructables.com/id/Interactive-Multitouch-Display/ )
In the example here it's a drafting table, which depending on size and elevation could be ideal.

To my thinking this combination my present an interesting solution to many of the issues and limitations that feel are currently inherent with the current setups of pc based mixing software.

1) purchase of a dedicated piece of hardware. (this could be argued, but when you think that the interface can change as quickly as loading a new skin, the purchase of a certain dedicated external controllers seems unnecessary.) Other controllers may augment..
2) large and easy to read workspace. ( probably would be a good place to possibly start rethinking some skins)
3) The workspace is the display.
4) With multi-touch the advantages are obvious.
5) With pressure sensitive touch, much more creative scratching and mixing vs. the ON-off mouse and external device buttons.
6) ability to interact with your listening audience more easily and return to your mixing more quickly.
7) It's still portable (well kinda, depending how it's configured)

If you are having trouble seeing the vision I have for this, I invite you to see this video ( http://www.ted.com/talks/jeff_han_demos_his_breakthrough_touchscreen.html ) In place of the apps that Jeff Han demos ( which are wicked cool) put virtual dj there with the same functionality.

I'm not 100% sure of the feasibility of this. but to be this would be a great way to combine simple, inexpensive components that not only remove the inherent limitation that can seriously hinder the dj's ability to perform but ( to me) present the logical leap in dj'ing

Comments welcome. Esp from the moderators, How feasible is this?

Bumping this because I want to know if there's any news about this.
