Topic: Is there a Linux version ? How it works with wine ?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I want to ask, if there exists a Linux version of Virtual DJ, and when not, if is pretended one in the next time or if currently is no interest to commercialize it under Linux

How good the Windows version of Virtual DJ is working under Linux ?

There is no VDJ for Linux OS, Windows and Mac are supported.
 
I read somewhere from a guy that had Ubuntu and Wine, and VDJ worked but just as play/pause, didnt work all the functions/features.
 
Is there pretended a version for Linux for the next time ?

Not likely as Linux is used for Servers. Might be in the future.
 
Then this will need long time, as Linux will be used always as server
 
I'm sure for a Linux version to even be thought of, there needs to be a higher penetration of Linux users. It is on the rise. (and not just for servers anymore.) I think you would be better off setting up your system to dual boot into Windows or Linux and installing it that way.
 
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron); if anybody knows how to use Virtual DJ with it, please post the info in this topic. On a side note, the Hercules DJ Console is supported on Ubuntu. The main advantage of a using VDJ under Linux would be the system's stability.
