When I bought my console everything worked fine, a few weeks later the wheels are acting funny. When I back or forward spin them they like die. They used to work like real direct drive 1200 turntables, now they act like first generation turntables. Just touching them for a second and then releasing it makes the wheel slow down too much.

Try this:
Open the HDCJ mapper (right click on the alien head), load the defaults (click the checkbox), load up notepad, move the wheels and see if the data stream coming out (a bunch of keystrokes) looks like it is doing what it should. This is far easier than trying to work it out using VDJ. If it is doing odd things, it is likely you need to contact Hercules for a replacement.
