Topic: Big Bug in Analyse in V 2.06 - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

In version 2.06 there is a big bug in the analyse function. When you analyse a song by right click it will be analysed. But the volume of the song will not analysed, so VDJ will show it as it will always be the same volume and a gain level will never be shown.
When you load a new song into a player, it will be correctly analysed!!
Please correct that ug, because i donĀ“t want to load all new songs into the player to analyse. It will be a hard work.

When I downgrade to vers. 2.05 then it is o.k. After upgrading to 2.06 the bug is there again.

I'm having the same problem. I have a lot of songs waiting for 2.07 before I analyse them.

Yes I noticed that last night... very unfortunate. Is there a way to fix that before the next upgrade?

I would consider this a major bug.

Man that bug is certainly alive and kicking.
Will this mean a complete rescan after the next upgrade I hope not???

The only way not to complete rescan is that you downgrade to v2.05 and scan the new songs there before you play them first time and then upgrade back to 2.06 to work with. But when you often have new songs it is a hard work.

Where can you download 2.05 to do a complete scan?

I'd be sort of curious about what's different. I've been going through analysing my entire library. So far I'm about 10,000 songs in, and I haven't seen anything like what you are describing.
My files are all CRB, 160, or 192 bitrate files. All mp3's. (All ripped by me for me)
Now, I haven't test fired every one of the files that's been analysed, but I'll bet I have tried at least several hundred... So far all of them are analysed normally, and load and play and display normally.

Are you guys using VBR files? Or WMA's?

There must be something different, or everyone of us would be having the exact same issues.

It seems like there may be a dozen or so people out there having this. We might need more information to help narrow down what the exact problem is.

the problem is high quality mp3's don't seem to scan at all 320 kbs lower quality has no problems.

happens to me to, there is no loud & soft spots displayed in the progress bar and the gain display is just empty, even if you move the gain slider...
it plays the songs at there 0.0 db level (the level that they are recorded at)

I guess the question to be asked is...
Does anyone have this problem with files OTHER than 320 k files?

happens with all my files... no matter what.
'I'm using 2.05 for analyze, 2.06 for live play

I hope next release will have a "only gain" analyze.
Idea already suggested a long time ago but which would be very efficient with this problem.

happens with any type of file for me to regardless of bitrate, CBR or VBR, or codec

How about this.
I recently re-sampled some VBR files to CBR. Besides 320 bitrate files, this is the first time I have seen this bug in a CBR file.
Could it be a problem with resampled files?
