Topic: Batch tagging of karaoke zips

Hi folks,

can anybody reccommend some batch renaming software for karaoke zip files? A lot of my zips are currently in the format of disc/track number - title - artist, and I'm looking for a way to convert them into the standard artist - title format that I use with my music. I'm hoping there's some kind of "tag & rename"-type software out there that will automate the process a little, or i've got a lot of typing ahead of me! Any thoughts?

I've heard the latest version of tag&rename will rename the files inside of zipped karaoke files.
 
Interesting... will it rename the zips themselves as well?

Actually, that's a point - when vdj reads a zip file, does it take the artist/title info from the zip folder or from the files contained within?
 
VDJ takes the artist/title from the zip file name. It doesn't care what the name is inside.
 
Tag&Rename 3.3 which is the latest release version does not recognize zip files at all. I'm not sure that it ever will. It is intended as an embedded tagging utility which renames based on those tags. It is not a zip file utility.
 
If you only want the change the name of the zip file, have a look at Magic File Renamer.
It allows you to drop the first nth charcters etc...
Lots of possibilities.
