Topic: Hyperthreading P4 anyone?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Anyone here using VDJ with HyperThreading enabled (there's two processors in win XP task manager visible) Pentium 4 ?

Just asking cause i just figured what caused VDJ to mess up every now and then, especially when browsing directories. When i disabled HT from bios, i can't reproduce the bug / graphics mess anomaly anymore.

So is this a problem in VDJ or is my computer somehow broken? VDJ is only application where i have seen ANY problems.. my comp has been totally stable for the 3 week i've had it.

Is it perhaps because vdj can potentially use a lot of memory and hyperthreading will attempt to swap things in and out of memory more so than if there was not hyperthreading? This is just a guess, I really not know all that much about it yet.

Thanks for your reply, but i'd like to hear from someone having such processor and the hyperthreading enabled.

I just spent a good while getting all latest service pack updates (win XP SP2) that i could find, only one of them sounded really promising (hyperthreading and large filemappings cause corruption), but it didn't help with the VDJ problem.
