Topic: Is there a way of slowly killing the bass whilst mixing

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Right, I might not be able to explain this right but i'll have a go,

When mixing really heavy beats is there a way, or a keyboard shortcut I can use to slowly cut or kill the bass of my "outgoing track" so my "incoming" track sounds sweet and the beat's don't cancel one another out. I've notice this sometimes happens and the mix sounds pretty crap, or though it's not.

I hope you understand.

create a new keyboard shortcut called BASSFADER..AND apply a specific key to it

+ 100 and -100 moves it pretty normally ...not too fast ..not too slow....( my opinion)

Thank's Dj reaper

So that means when I'm mixing I hit the key I've chosen, the bass then fades, whilst I'm crossfading to the other track. Have I got it Right ?????

nah u have to press it and it will move the fader a certain point...what i do is ..i use my external mixer...but if im using jus vdj.i assign crossfader shortcuts to move it left and right..i use PAGE UP AND PAGE DoWN .personally and i assigned the key ( (N) and (m)....to to the bassfader..to do it automaticaly....i duno about that yet...ima look it up and let u know

You can also set keyboard shortcuts to kill the bass, mids, or highs. They are also available on different skins.
