When using Beatlocking with TCV, VDJ will lag and drag

Also when using a Time Coded CD, I can never get 100% signal.

Thanks for you help

There is indeed a problem with using beatlocking with TCV and VDJ 2.05. It is doing more than just lagging and dragging when it's engaged, for me now the program is just crashing

is anyone else having these problems. Latency occurs when Beatlocking is engaged using TCV. VDJ 2.05 slows down while trying to lock the beat Try this start two different tracks with the same BPM then engage Beatlocking, and you will see what I talking about. Also with Beatlocking engaged using TCV if you scratch really fast the program just crashes. I would be curious to know if anyone else is having these issues.

Dont expect features like beatlock to work in timecode vinyl
mode. You just don't understand how timecode works.
This is not Vdj related but affect any software that uses TCV.
The timecode has timestamps on it and take the full control
of playback control/position/speed etc. And i can tell you that
it works much better than other solutions i tried.
Currently i don't have Vdj vinyls (will order soon), but i can test it with another TCV software vinyls i own. (0% quality because of different timecode and wrong pitch, but for testing it works...)
Beatlock is just like you describe, but for me it is normal.
Maybe it must be disabled by default in TCV mode.
But i tried hard to make it crash by scratching very very fast
but it didn't.
And if i can't do it with my scratches ....nobody can !!!
(i was DMC champion, read other posts..)

For the timecode cd, what soundcard/drivers are you using for line in ?

I use a Maya USB 44 Soundcard. I am using Pioneer CDJ800's CD Players. No problem getting 100% using TCV, and my 1200's, using the same inputs on my Maya USB 44 and plugging my CDJ's changing to CD mode in VDJ, it works but I don't get 100% which means no needle drop mode. I just did all my tests that I mentioned earlier and it happened again. I quess I wont use beatlocking with TCV

Maya 44 usb works well as input device (i have the same)
but keep in mind :
1. the signal is much louder from cd (compared to vinyl)
so you have to readjust input volumes to avoid clipping
(best setting for the waveform is about 75% of the maximum) and
2. You have to un-check the "software RIAA preamp"
when using cd.

also...

make sure you choose CD, in the drop meny for "TURNTABLES" in the remote control setup.

that will make vdj run in timecode cd-mode when you use timecode cd's

hope that helps :)

Any other suggestions regarding the Time Coded CD, I've pretty much done all of the suggestions mentioned, unchecked RIAA, I've always selected CD mode, played around with the input levels, and I can only get 0%.

Check for ground loops, use a wire to connect all metal parts
of your pc (is it desktop or laptop ?) and mixer and your
cd players together and then to the ground of your power
socket.
Use another power socket if possible, disconnect other devices to see where the problem is.
Check the audio cables from cd player to maya.
Is it direct connection ? I had 0% when i had pass the signal through a mixer with separate L R Master sliders.
It was only a slight difference in L/R balance from 0% to 100%
In the timecode calibrations you see both waveforms
(green and red) ? How they look ?
Try another cd player, or even another computer to play the timecode. Sometimes i use a laptop to send the timecode in
the desctop pc and via versa for my tests.
No other ideas...
Good luck.

0% can also be caused by having a signal that is too strong, its just finding the right ballance the first time and then you have no probs at all
