Topic: VDJ crack to VDJ 5 (Problems w/ Maya and more)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Greetings,
Up until about 3 days ago I have been running the cracked version of VDJ 4.2. I did not intend on being a "real" dj, but now i have a residency. Traktor (the original) was the first thing i ever deejayed with(strictly for fun).

Anyway, when I hooked up one timecode vinyl to the crack VDJ and it worked for about 30 minutes and then it read the timecode in reverse. This effect will not go way even if I restarted VDJ. I would have to play the numark tt500 in reverse to get it to play normally. I saved the money and bought the real version hoping to solve these problems but to no avail. It's like virtual dj remebers me having the cracked version and keeps it's attributes. I deleted the cracked then installed the real deal. This however did not help at all, VDJ 5 is acting the same as the crack. My maya 44 soundcard also puts out half the volume on any sound system or mixer.

cstoll gave me a hopeful remedy which basically had me wipe my computer clean (I reinstalled windows xp, there was nothing on my desktop but recycle bin). Thanks cstoll for the help but VDJ 5 is still reacting the exact same way as the cracked version.

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Deuce

When you re-installed windows did you format the harddrive?

That's a very important step.

I had the guy at geek squad delete every single directory on the computer other than that I dont know. How should I have formatted it?

Thanks that got my soundcard producing the right volume and the turntable is going in the correct direction. I owe you one seriously. However like 5 minutes into playing the timecodevinyl becomes unresponsive even though vdj shows the timecode moving...I'm sure there's another thread.
Thanks again,
Deuce

DJDeuce2 - don't know if I should take your comment as a compliment or something else... but I am happy to see you as a licensed user !

Go into the Timecode setup and change the Pitch Sensitivity to 2000 and uncheck the Clear Sound.

Again welcome to the legal world.

hes removed himself from the underground!

hi , but what tcv are u using?

To cstoll: i was just saying thanks for helping out. (I'll try the things you have mentioned later today)

To spinnaJ: I'm using VDJ timecode's and i don't know how to register them

It says on the TCV: VDJ-TCV3 then trutone mastering then some lettters and numbers.

go to modify ur profile n go to hardware registration then go to the statement written like this (below) n while u playin ur tcv u click on timecoded vinyl detection (it should be it, havent tried it yet or if u order from this site, just press that n the icon will came out.hehe i just do that n now i do have an icon too:))

If you bought some TimeCoded Vinyls, click here : TimeCoded Vinyls detection

I set the pitch sensitivity to 2000 ms but i left clear sound checked because when i uncheck it the timecode doesn't respond to its full potential but it ran for an hour today with no problems.

However when i run VDJ through ASIO soundcard (Maya 44) with the asio4all driver and go to the effects browser the song sometimes skips and gets off beat with a gap of no audio of about 1 second (with or without timecodes). I don't know if it's a problem with my specs or the soundcard. But for now I'll just do gigs with no effects.

Don't use the ASIO4ALL driver with Maya44USB. Maya's own drivers provide ASIO support and works best using the drivers built by the manufacture.

I just installed maya's driver (the one that came with the maya 44) and i ran into the problem of half the volume output by the soundcard. I uninstalled VDJ yet again and reinstalled used the link to clear that registry and installed the asio4all driver, so i am back at where my last post was. I tried to install the maya driver from the website as well but i couldn't find the file when looking for drivers where you can select them in the configuration for VDJ.

What half volume ? And there is no need to continuously uninstall and re-install VirtualDJ. This is a driver issue and configuration of that device.

Did you bother opening the Maya Control panel and raising the Output faders to FULL ? And, once you have them installed the MAYA USB is a selection in the drop-down for the sound cards. OR, you can use the setting selection just like using the ASIO4ALL, you can choose the ASIO option as the Soundcard.

This is the site you should be using for the drivers - http://download.esi-audio.com/
This is the drivers page for the MAYA 44 USB - http://download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=40&g=2&l=en
Here are the latest drivers - http://85.25.144.200/download/ESI/MAYA44_USB/MAYA44_USB-v2_811.zip
Here is the drivers I use as I still think they are stable and function perfect - http://85.25.144.200/download/ESI/MAYA44_USB/MAYA44_USB-v2_55.zip

Hope all this helps. But don't use ASIO4ALL with this card.

Also, look in my blog ( http://www.virtualdj.com/blog/cstoll/blog1116.html ) and look at my Maya configuration suggestions. Please note they are from the version 3.x days, but the sound card choices are still very valid.

As for suggestions with Version 5, when you get into the TimeCode configuration I would change the Pitch Sensitivity to 2000 and uncheck the Clear Sound option - for now.

Ya i definitely did not know about the maya control panel. The driver for the maya 44 that you hotlinked works much better than the asio4all. I was a super novice right there. Everything works fine and ive unchecked the clear sound and changed pitch sensivity. When i select certain effects though the music output has a little static interfering when i run the TCV's through the maya 44 soundcard with the correct driver (sometimes it's bearable sometimes it's not).

Thanks for helping out and the patience...

cstoll your the man!
