This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Well went thru the first weekend since 2.03 pfffffew No crash
no problems but......
Ram keeps climbing steadily during the night ex Sat at 2.30am ram was at 700mb.
When i start at 9pm ram is at 300mb
Can someone explain why this is?

As you load up tracks, VDJ extract them into plain wav format (into physical workmemory). since wav files are much bigger than compressed files (mp3, wma, ogg etc.), VDJ needs more ram.

so the bigger the tracks, the more memory you need.

So if i use all short tracks ex under 5min it would not use as much memory! Then how come this was not happening with 2.01?All this started with along with the 2.02 update......

it might be because you had different MAX LOAD setting before.

In VDJ setup, you can choose how much load you want into memory, and setting it limited can be better if you are using huge mp3 files...

think about it, a 50mb mp3 file is maybe several houndred MB of uncompressed wave into memory...

but it doesnt help if its constantly trying to analyise the song and consequently running the cpu at 100% doing so until its finnished
