Topic: Anyone out there use the Evolution X-Session MIDI Controller??

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Haven't seen much talk about this as a controller for live performances, seems like a sure fire hit, and you can't beat it for the money, but does anyone have any first hand experience with this unit?? I like the fact that its all midi, and its all assignable, starting off my dj life doing house music, i'm kinda partial to the rotary knob style line volume controls, and this would seem like a good way to get the best of all worlds....

Olny thing is that i'm probably gonna wanna scratch, and not sure how well that x-fader will feel, or control the actual x-fader in the program.

Thnx in advance

MP3Rick uses it I beleive...

I've got one too but have not had the time to test it :(

DJ TAO :)

I use the controller and it works well with mixing and scratching.

Cool, got any demos of stuff done with the controller? Scratching or otherwise? This actually seems to be a better choice for me, its cheap, its cool looking, the only thing is that the x-fader is in a wierd spot, but oh well, can't have everything.

Do you have a link to a info page for the Evolution X-Session MIDI Controller?

i use the uc-17 ...
r u talking about the m-audio x-session pro or the original evolution x-session (x-session was bought out buy m-audio)
i don't know if mp3rick upgraded , but he was using the x-session uc-17 also( his comments is what helped me decide to get mine.. and i'm glad i did ( the mapper in the downloads helps alot too !!)

just beware of the fact you will not get the response from this fader as comared to a analog mixer. But if your just doing basic scrathing it will work fine....but don't expect to do 2 clicks crabs etc.

Werd, I feel you on that.

For that matter, is there any midi controller that has the ability to do that???

Besides the NUO4, and the new vestax

I dont have anything recorded yet. but may work on it for you. I mainly use it for the cross fader for mixing videos it works well for that and for the price its a sure hit..... Im a mobile DJ and I never leave home with out it.
