Topic: Let's ensure Atomix/Numark's and VirtualDJ/Virtual Vinyl's widespread adoption:

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

This post is meant to address an issue that was brought to my attention recently about some who may think that club promotion is all that is necessary for VDJ/VV when actually nothing should be ruled out. Every kind of promotion is necessary for broad adoption at ALL times!

For those that feel that getting VDJ/VV in clubs is all that's needed, remember that there are a lot more hours in a day than normal club hours, and lots of clubs are only open a few days a week. That's hours of product promotion lost everday that that club is not open AND hours lost during the days that it is as well, since they are generally only open for 6-8 hours on those days.

That's 25-30% of the day wasted by someone who probably isn't working on music related projects, much less promoting music related products, as opposed to radio and/or industry heads that I guarantee you are constantly in peoples (decision makers) faces and that can promote Atomix/Numark products for 16-20 hours of everyday.

The music industry never sleeps, even if we have to.

It's much smarter to get radio personalities and club circuit promoters (along with club dj's) who may promote a product on-air to tens of thousands of listeners (let the law of averages factor in) and to multiple club owners respectively, and further re-enforce the promotion of that product at the clubs that they end up doing.

A resident dj who does one or two clubs doesn't have near as much visibilty and influence than turntablists/dj's that travel the radio and club circuit locally, nationally, and internationally and who are heard FAR beyond a club, long before AND after that clubs hours of operation too.

I'm not knocking club dj's (as I am one too) whatsoever and this is NOT directed at them. Rather it's directed at the misconception that club adoption is all that's needed for VDJ/VV's broad adoption.

What about mobile turntablists/dj's who may not go to clubs (because they're booked) but I know are a lot more likely to listen to the radio and/or watch music programs on tv? How are they gonna hear, much les know, that VDJ/VV is a viable option for them if it's only in clubs that they don't go to? They won't. They'll just keep using SSL here in the U.S. if they percieve VDJ/VV to be only for clubs with video capabilites.

Any company and it's staff should be on the same page and know that promotion and exposure should be limitless. So why limit it to only a few hours a few days a week and to people that are for the most part doing nothing for the product's promotion and adoption beyond those limits?

I'm simply saying that Atomix/Numark needs to think beyond clubs as well in order to get VirtualDJ and Virtual Vinyl much broader adoption. I've seen a lot of radio turntablists/dj's who never even went through the club circuit and got on air with only a demo mix and a couple of live mix slots.
