Topic: How do I get the crossfader on my mixer to split my tracks when recording??????

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have a Behringer DJX700 Mixer and I have got it playing and mixing but do I have to have a special configuration to enable the crossfader on my mixer to split the tracks while I am recording?????

Please help

in the record config menu, select split into multiple files, and then auto-split on crossfade.

HOWEVER, this will only work if you mean the VDJ internal crossfader. if you have an external mixer, then that is outside VDJ. you would need to control vdj's software crossfader to use that VDJ record function.

IE the hercules MK2 crossfader or any MIDI controller fader.

I did the recording options thing but it didnt work. Ok I went and bought a Numark USB interface mixer because I thought maybe because my soundcard isnt setup right I can jus use the USB ports as the 2 channels. But while I mixing I leave the crossfader on VDJ's Internal mixer in the middle so that I can have full control with my mixer but VDJ is still not recognizing the auto split on crossfade.

Thats because you need to record the set using the crossfader in the in software.

You can use a midi controller to mix using the crossfader in the software. It needs to be map to a midi.

Thanks for the help guys. But I just bought Magix Audio Studio its similar to Protools and I manualy cut the tracks after Im done recording. This way I can cut all my tracks exactly where I want and spruce the effects a little if I want. Im gonna try the midi controller later tho.
