Topic: Will VDJ automix or not ?????

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

After having interrupted an automix B-> A (that is to say
I manually pushed the crossfader back to B), VDJ was
angry after me and doesn't want to automix anymore,
even if the button "automix" in the middle of the 2 desks
was blue (VDJ was supposed to automix).

This never occured without a manual action .... but,
nevertheless, it's annoying not to be sure that the automix
will work. I found it was a very good idea to add this
blue signal in the "automix" button but it seems that there
are still situations in which the blue signal doesn't
reflect the intention of the automix engine.

To investigate ....

Hello,

I found a scenario :

* Load a playlist and launch it by clicking on "*" (automix).
The blue light of the central Automix button will be
switched "on".

* During an automatic crossfade, you decide to stop the
automix because the playing song ends too early .... to do
this, you click on the "automix" button (its "double blue" light
comes back to "simple blue") and you manually send back the
crossfader 100% to the ending song. Let's call this song "S"
for the example.

* After this, it will be impossible to automix from the song "S"
to another without reloading "S" or clicking on the automix
button. For example, if you play again the song "S" (or the
end of the song by restarting before the "end" automix
marker), VDJ will go through the marker without automixing.
Even if you switch off then switch on again the automix "*"
button, this song will never automix to another.

I know this scenario is a little bit mad but I report it because
it may hide other problems. Maybe this it's not a bug but just
an implementation choice ...

Not corrected in V1_07B.

There is another scenario related to the same bug (I think),
but .... more annoying :

* In automix mode, a few seconds before the "end marker",
you decide to click the central "Automix" button to anticipate
the mix.
* The crossfader begins to crossfade but, while it's doing
this, the ending song reaches the "end marker" ; then
the crossfader immediatly goes back 100% to the ending
song (so the volume goes up) to do the automatic
mix (then it starts the same mix for the second time).

Well ... this is clearly a bug.
