first off, a very happy new year to my vdj brethren...may we all have a productive and victorious year ahead..

now for the issue..

im sure this has been answered somewhere, but i have not been able to find the correct thread..i think we need to do something about the search and the way it works, because i cant seem to find the response i need..so i wil post here..please bear with me..

i got a new laptop..woohoo.. :)

and now i want to transfer my music from the desktop to the laptop..and not lose my bpm etc...

how do i go about it..

if you copy all the files to the 'same' location (eg. D:\MUSIC) you can copy the database files to your virtual folder and hey presto.

you will need to copy:
mp3database.txt
VirtualDJ Database.xml
VirtualDJ Database (YOURNAME).xml

then you are ready to rock :D

And if you DONT copy music to same location, just use the :

VirtualDJ Database.xml
VirtualDJ Database (YOURNAME).xml


The mp3database.txt (search database) is built in seconds, by adding favorite folders in VDJ, and right-clicking the folder choosing "add to search database"

What may result of this (not doing the step above), if anything?
