Topic: is this a good shuttle for vdj'n?

About the Motherboard:

It will accept all 478 socket Pentium P4 class processors including the extreme edition processors.
It includes the 800FSB, the classic 875P chipset, and plenty of room for ram.
It accepts up to 2gigs of dual channel DDR400 Ram.
It will support a full size optical drive and 2 full size hard drives.




You will receive:

Intel 3.0 GHz (socket 478).
BRAND NEW 1 gig Kingston ValueRAM DDR 400.
ATI Radeon 8500 Series Video Card.
Fresh installation of Windows XP Pro with integrated SP2.
Memorex combo drive CD-RW / DVD-ROM 52x32x52x16x.
80 gig Western Digital hard drive.
250W power supply.
You will be receiving your Shuttle and all original packaging. (Pictures are of actual item)
You will receive your PC with all parts, cabling, IDE cables, manuals, instructional guides, sata cables, and a free 2 disk version of Linux Mandrake operating system that was included with the Shuttle.
This machine has a Northwood P4 processor.

was gona go rackmount but forbars clubs i think shuttle would be better

@ sky: i"ll prob change the video card but there both 300 bucks but the second one is barebones(no video card,no hd

i would recomend 128 or higher best

at 512 if u want to video mix

if sound only

then 64 is fine

I would recommend a x16 video card at a minimum and 256 or 512MB ram video card with very fast processors. I'm not so sure that 64MB card would do video mixing very well.

i see those cards listed in pci express from $119-$140; i guess i now know what type of video card to get (thanks anewsome/skyfxl) Now what about power;pentium 4 or d or northwood p4?;is the dual core prob solved?and i dont know sh!!! about sockets..lol...Thankx again

so i should for get about that first cpu then huh? btw the first cpu is listed untill i asked about dual core..then thats where the specs for the second one start (which they will upgrade for you via the linq i posted.
