Hi, I know there are a few posts around these bits and pieces, but I'm a bit of a technotard and need some advice.
Here is what I want to do:
Use virtual DJ on my laptop as the mixer, controlled by the DJ console with both sides playing mp3s off the laptop, and use the CDJ as well to play normal cd's.
So essentially I want 3 channels and be able to mix between them all.
I would also be happy to only have one channel on the dj console and teh other normal cd's on the CDJ 800.
I want to do this to practice my hardware cd mixing so I can get better for when I play on cd only setups.
Can this be done?

skip that then ,
take music from mk2 direct
from out put 1/2

Getting an external mixer will be your best option, you can't use VDJ to fade into the CDJ unless you have external hardware

a clearer way to say it maybe would be to press the aduio source buttons
on ur mk2
u can them mix bettween cd and pc

Ah now I understand.
If i have cdj plugged into input 1/2, the left hand side of the dj console becomes the cdj channel, and the right hand side is the mp3/laptop channel.
So without an external mixer I can't have ALL three going at once, but I can have cd (left hand side) vs. mp3/laptop (right hand side)
If i press the button again, it goes back to being the two sources from my laptop (mp3)
Do I have it right?

Hi,
I've just plugged it all in and I am getting distortion and crackling on the sound coming out of the speakers.
The console on it's own is fine, and the CDJ-800 on it's own is fine, all the cords and plugged in.
Any clues?
Tim

try lowering the volume on the console and increase it on the amp / speakers if you can
