strange & big problem since yesterday
i never had a single(!!!) problem or crash during my mp3 gigs with this amazing piece od S/W

i have a sony laptop (1GB RAM, GeForce G9 6200 TC 128)
recently i've been working more on videos
wasn't that lucky with hardware acceleration
internal video decoders with H/W acc. on weren't smooth at all
i tried different codecs
(of course, i uninstalled the old one before installing a new one)
a few days ago i installed K-Lite Codec Pack Deejaysystem Edition 254
and tara~~~
H/W acc. worked almost perfect
i only had 3 crashes during a 6 hours set
(i had a backup computer on my side so i could handle those crashes right away)
for my 1st video gig with H/W on this wasn't that bad ;-)
after my gig i went home and continued organizing my stuff
and when i was loading a video(all mpgs) ........
no waveform, neither on the main waveform display or on the decks
if i play the songs it'll show the played part only
i thought this was the case only with the videos, but same with mp3s
i tried it with and external display connected and w/out
with h/w acc on and off
internal video decoder or external codecs
all combinations
i uninstalled vdj, removed register entries and installed vdj again
hoping everything will be alright....

What is your MAX LOAD setting in Config / Options?
What you described occurs when the track length is longer than the setting mentioned above.
Try setting the MAX LOAD to 15 min. or ALWAYS and see if you experience the same problem with the SAME files that gave you the initial observation.

i swear, i never touched it
i always had it on "always"
i checked it it was on "none"
i changed it everything is OK again

Mine was also re-set to 'none' after the update DJcel is working on new mappers for the DAC2 and the HDJC

It happens from time to time, after any update or major version change; I always go back through the settings to verify nothing has changed. I come from an old school of never trust in consistency, always cover your a$$ and verify for yourself when something changes.

it really took me a long time to get everything all right
of course it wouldn't have been possible without vdj's updates and the forum
never had a problem with mp3s
but... videos... different story...
i've been really close to buy a new laptop
anyway, as i mentioned before i had max load on "always"
i figured out that was the reason for all(actually 3) the crashes
i had a couple nights ago playing videos
now i have it limited on 30mn
i played last night (10pm ~ 5am/no break/automix and manual mix)
not a single crash
most(over 95%) of the videos(mpgs) loaded and played very smooth
a few were only a little bit "choppy", but no problem with the sound
so nobody really noticed anything
i "DJ" with vdj @ clubs
and "VJ" with vdj @ a medium sized bar (ladies night thu~sat)
i wouldn't consider me ready to play with my mpgs @ a club
will try to work more with vobs
but for the bar(big screen) it's fuxxing great
honestly i used a crack in the beginning
i just had to be sure vdj is the right thing for me
now being a pro edition user
not even a single time i thought i payed too much or wasted my money or anything like that
i login pretty much everyday for a couple hours
to see what's going on... read the forums etc...
a lot of complains... :-(
i guess i'm one of the lucky ones ;-)
