Topic: Do I really need a mixer if I have an Mk2?

Hi everyone..
Ive noticed on a few of the VDJ demo movies that other people using an MK2 also use a mixer. I'm just wondering why do this? What are the extra advantages of attaching a mixer when the Mk2 should be enough? Do I really NEED to buy a mixer as well if I want to attach 2 turntables to a Mk2?

Cheers
Mike

You can use MK2 only but it is a software only mixer which means that when you move faders/knobs it moves it on the VDJ itself. It is always better to have external (hardware) mixer for many reasons like better EQ, Mic Input, more channels etc. Basically, you should try both ways and see for your self do you need it or not, that is the best way.

Sometimes is better an external mixer to scratch, 'cos the wheels of the MK2 are too near of the crossfader.
