I would like to use this software as a mobile dj with no Turntables or CD players but only a mixer. Does anybody have any suggestions on a set-up for what i'm trying to accomplish.

Not only a real hardware mixer, but also have midi capabilities, so can control VDJ software at the same time ...

You will have to make some decisions; Laptop or desktop. Two or four channel mixer, do you want a controller and which one. What kind of sound card do you want. That's just for starters.

It depends how many of VDJ functions you're going to be using. For basic music mixing, your laptop keyboard is more then enough.
For more advanced and tactile experience look into midi controllers. There are many out there made by Faderfox, M-Audio, Behringer, and the ones listed here http://www.virtualdj.com/products/hardware.html Just find the one that suits you best.
