First of it is stand-alone. It only connects to external media sources for accessing files. It does not interface with a computer - So it's not a controller in the sense that we use the word. It is a Stand-Alone Controller+Mixer.

Check out the Numark iCDX ;)

Works DIRECTLY as a controller for VDJ, AND is a stand alone CD dj player too ;)

But the nice thing of the Numark director is that you dont need no computer! No hanging skipping - things like that.

The D2 Director isn't available yet, but it will be a shame if it doesn't support a computer connection. If it does/did, it would make a good alternative to the DAC-3 with the added advantage of being able to use it stand-alone if there were any problems (E.g: Computer/laptop crashed.) The display screen would also be great for trackname display and being able to browse files directly from the controller without needing to look at the computer screen.

Who knows, maybe there will be something cool in the near future ;)

ah another teaser from dj-in-norway ;-)
The question is how near is near and will it be cooler than the iCDX?

Such goodies are usually brought to kids around Christmas ;) hehe

The iCDX is out as we speak.. or close.
And is a stand alone cd player... so quite different..

Its a matter of taste... Never liked the Dac, and love Pioneer CDJ's

So its Numark iCDX for me.. ;)

I use the DVinyl2020 almost every gig and I like it a lot combined with 2 Denon tabletop players. I will try the iCDX if they are available. If I like them they will replace the Denons and the DVinyl. And you're absolutely right: It is all a matter of taste.
I like the Pioneer cdj1000s over the Denons, but they cost 3 times as much and are twice as big (and heavy).
Maybe we could skip some months and move directly to the 10th of December...

Nice setup...

The DVinyl rack seems cool... You might like this Christmas then ;) hehe

Denon decks are good too... as you say, Pioneer decks are too expensive..

Just hoping the iCDX will be around the lowest suggested price I've seen on the presale .. ;)
If so, I'll get iCDX ;)

What was the price of the iCDX you have seen?
I think I will also go for the iCDX players. Or maybe wait and get the christmas surprise and 2 Pioneer cdj1000mk3.
Note some pictures of the setup are in my blog.
